This interview was what we, as a people, needed! This is the level of consciousness I’m used to! Busta Rhymes has the presence of mind to be in the moment with relevance! This is necessary, especially for a grown black woman to hear!
Kevin Johnson
This is Black Male Growth in session.

Nothing in this music world can match HIP HOP ! The music , the culture, the psychology or the sociology !!!
Charles Geter
wait...busta said..."the significant value of the civil liberty of privacy was something to be treasured" ! Whoa...precision in the English language is almost lost in portions of our community. Words have power...the right application of those words promote positive change and growth! This interview displays two masters! Thank you!

This was the most incredible interview that I have ever seen. I loved the fact that he allow him to answer the questions. I loved the way he conducted this interview has if it was just an conversation. I loved Busta reaction to what people had to say about him he was genuinely shocked by what people had to say. I loved his honesty. Just an really good interview. Busta voice is incredible it has an James Earl Jones effect.
Rosalyn Scaife

This whole interview was beautiful yet deeply root grounded with knowledge.
—Wow!! When two men are so sure of themselves as men.
The vernacular rhythm as they speak about their life is so lyrical. It only can be heard when you quiet yourself with each flow.
Well done 🙏🏾

You really should do a Masterclass on how to properly conduct an interview. This was perfect. So refreshing to for once see someone truly interested in what the other is saying. No bs or fakeness.

Wired people!
Very good interview 👍🏾

What an intense and focused interview. When I came across this interview I just knew it was going to be good. I have to admit that I was taken aback by the interviewer because Van jones is known for political commentary so I didn't see him outside his sphere. So, this interview opened my eyes to Van jones' levels. Due to Busta Rhymes being the story teller he is that this was not going to be a miss. So poignant... Awesome interview
Chris Dierdra
When "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check" came out, I went a live performance at some spot in NYC. I looked to my right and Jay was right there (no crew, no body gaurd, just by himself) watching Busta intensely almost like he was taking mental and visual notes...but I could tell it was mostly admiration. So the first quote I can totally understand.
William Thompson
Wow. That was powerful
perry barner

Crazy, Busta and I kind of grew up similarly. Except I eventually came around and worked for my Pop. Now I own my own company. Listening to this in the middle of the night as I work. Dope stuff.
Bob Barker
Wow!
Dub Jedi
Thoroughly enjoyed that.
People may not agree about who the beat rapper is, which is fine because opinions are personal. BUT.....Busta is possibly the best lyrical technicians. Listen to his rhythmic delivery and it compares to the most intricate jazz timings. No top rapper does it like Busta.
SC Guy
Busta next album could be just him talking. Coolest voice in the history of earth.
Mel Mel
This was just an epic interview on so many levels.
Priscella Ahlers
I'm proud of you Busta, keep telling the gifts of your ascending being. Enlightened agent of the Stratosphere. (-: Great interview.
Saiko Woods
Busta....I appreciate the interview, but I wanted to respond to your comment regarding blacks not being mentioned or included in the Bible.
Contrary to popular opinion and conclusion, blacks have been mentioned and identified in the Bible LITERALLY beginning from Genesis (Ham), the Gospels (Simon of Cyrene), Acts (the Ethiopian eunuch), to Revelation (chaps 4-5).
We're in the book bruh! ✌️

Busta Rymes didn't stay in Brooklyn that long as far as high school go. He went to Uniondale high school in Long . I was in 2 of his videos in the 80ties. One of the best rappers of all time.
lilyashagirl
Busta is truly engrained in the Fabric that is Hip Hop!!! Listen 2 the way he talks, watch how he moves, his Energy Flows Strong yet Easy. If u can feel his All over Vibe... He's on that 👑 Ish!!, He's sitting exactly where he should be as the culture bestows precious stones to his much Deserved & Earned Crown!! 💯 👑

Busta brought African cultural to hip-hop and made it sexi,. He made you proud to be African/ black and wanted to embrace that ish. At least for me that is, and I will forever love him for that.❤️❤️

Top shelf interview, I couln't stop watching. Well Done Van!!!!
Jay Thomas
Listening to Busta just narrate these memories and scenes is so vivid, I hate that I wasnt born earlier and lived in New York. Busta is a top tier lyricist and story teller.
That Guy
This is timely and sorely needed. Hip-Hop is a force and we need to recognize the power in it and the positive leaders in and of it! Thank you

I have to say that was one of the most inspiring interviews I've ever sat down and watch it was something to grow from lets me know im not the only one that feels that way about life most of the subjects reminded me of how I grew up it is amazing how people can be just a like and have to different live with different skills same drive and from similar up bringing. I've been a fan of this man since the day he hit the rap world 🌎 I can go on and on .

How do you have people disliking this interview. People today are bugged out.

Absolutely wonderful wonderful interview with Hip Hop royalty and being REAL about the whole thing. Busta Rhymes nearly left us yet, our Saviour saved him and he's not done.
Salute to you Busta and keep doin the thing!!
Stacy Cheatham
BUSTA!!! CONGRATS!!! U ARE AND WILL ALLWAYS BE A TRUE LEGEND. BEEN A FAN SINCE DAY ONE.
Tommy Franklin
Busta Rhymes has the best way of explaining things like the way he raps with metaphors and the most articulate artist today. And he really unpacked a lot things that's been happening with him.
Tommy Franklin
Busta off loaded hugely. . . I was wondering why he was gaining weight, and now we all know the exclusive right here with Van. A deep and intensively great interview about not just showbiz.
T
First artist, whose videoclips I recorded on VHS. One of the first whose tapes I stoled from my older brother. Busta is one and only.

The dopest of all time...wonderful interview..

2 shills & their nonsense. Utter useless nonsense. He doesn't mean sht to anyone but y'all other shills🙄

Can't stand van jones. Why it is that when a self hating black man marries a white woman he over compensate by trying to be ultra black. You made your choice you can cheerlead but stay out the game

Wow. Just chills. I'm so glad I was able to take some time to truly experience this interview and digest what was taking place. This is a historical platform and brother Van you couldn't have been more appropriate a vessel to bring this to us. Thank you!

So grateful to have attended this class. This is more than an interview. Grateful for the wisdom passed over. Bless you Buss.
SMOOTH OPERATOR
Definitely an iconic moment in interviews. I met Busta in '95 at Kings Plaza Mall. He's so down to earth, humble and sincere it's no wonder success is all around him.
Philip Deshazor
I think LA Reid had Outkast "Runnin and Rhymin" just like Chuck D had Busta Rhymes. Seems to work ✌😎
